For the expressed task of repetition over 100 days I will use simple techniques to bind 100 beads together each day. They may remain similar to each other with just the motif or symbol created in the binding changing or they may evolve as daily made objects.
I am facinated with the Zulu customary idea that a love letter should be something which can be adorned - there is a craft industy in my country of origin (South Africa see this link for more info http://www.marques.co.za/clients/zulu/bead.htm ) which has usurped this custom of making adornable bead love letters for touristshttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif and brought this idea into a sort of national creative commons.

I intend to use the method of beads without confining this project to the specific Zulu set of meanings, colours and patterns, instead I will go broad in my exploration of symbol, object or motif. It is the humble bead which will remain constant. I have a bead loom and a variety of glass, wood and other beads. I would like to repeat the idea of using a threading process and binding exactly 100 beads each day in an expression of love. I hope to gained 100 insights into what is seen as love in that time.

Here I offer you a grape seed to my great bead project. Enjoy!
Come back and visit between 20th April and 28th July for progress.
